Why do you think she takes him home?
Why do you think the story ends the way it does?
Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
Why do you think she takes him home? To teach him a lesson on what not to do and what not to do because he tried stealing her purse. Also so he can wash his face and eat so he can be healthy and figure out why her tried stealing her purse.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think the story ends the way it does? Because now the boy probably won't do what he did to her to another person and she teaches him a lesson because he tried to steal a purse.
Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run? Because he wants to learn what the woman has to say about her life and how she acted when she was young and she acted the same way as her and she has a job at a beauty shop and works to earn some money and i think he is thinking that that can be him one day.
Q: Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
ReplyDeleteA: The boy (Roger) stayed because he thought Ms. Jones would call the police, and he would go to jail.
She takes him home because she wanted to teach him a lesson that he ended up learning even though it wasn't such a harsh learned lesson, it was more of a thoughtful way of teaching it.
ReplyDeleteI think the story ended the way it did because it was to show the sometimes you learn the easy way and sometimes you learn the hard way, either way you should never do something that foolish.
I think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run because he sees that she's not the kind of person that plays around like that and he probably knew if she encountered with him again then she wouldn't forgive him. Part of the reason that he stayed might also be that he knew she was doing something good to him by offering dinner, teaching him to wash his face, and most importantly not telling the police of what he's done.
-Why do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDeleteA: She took him home to teach him a lesson.
-Why do you think the story ends the way it does?
A: Because now after the boy sees how nice the lady was to him even though he tried to steal her purse he probably wont ever steal or try to steal again.
-Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
A: He probably notice how nicely the woman is treating him and how he says no ones home to feed him and the lady is feeding so he decides to get a meal.
-Why do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDelete*She probably felt a little sorry for him because he was so poor that he had to steal in order to eat.
-Why do you think the story ends the way it does?
*The boy has probably learned his lesson on stealing and he also see how kind people can be
-Why do you think the story ends the way it does?
*I think that by that time the boy was still a little bit scared and he was scared that if he ran away she might call the police on him. He was also curious why this women that he tried to steal from was so nice to him.

ReplyDeleteShe took him home because she wanted to teach him a lesson, and so he wont steal things.
Ricardo Rivera
ReplyDeleteshe did that cause she wanted to make him learn what is right from wrong
the story ends like that cause he learned his lesson and stop doing whats wrong
the boy didnt run cause he wanted someone to tell him what to do in life
Why do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDelete--I think she takes him home because she wants to make sure the boy is taught something but not harshly learned like it could have been if he were caught by somebody.
Why do you think the story ends the way it does?
-- I think the story ends like it does because the boy must have learned his lesson and was great-full of it
Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
-- I think the boy stays because the lady is being nice to him, is teaching him something that could help him and also she is going to feed him.

ReplyDeleteI think Mrs.Jones took Roger to her house because she wanted to teach him a lesson on stealing and she probably knew he did have parents to feed him so she did.
I think she took him to her house to teach him how to not steal things from other peopl. The boy wanted some shoes so he was going to steal them, but if he would've asked nicwly instead of attempting to steal the pocketbag he propably would have gotten the shoes. She just wanted to teach him how to do good things not bad
ReplyDeleteI think the boy stayed because the woman was being nice to him and he thought he was get some food. He said he wanted some Blue Suede Shoes and when the woman said all you had to do was ask, i think that he was hoping to get some shoes.
ReplyDeleteI think that the stayed because the woman was nice to him and he was going to get some food. He also stayed because he said he wanted to get some Blue Suede Shoes, the woman said that all he had to do was ask, so i think that he was waiting to get some or he thought that he would
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDelete-I think she took him home so she could talk to him about what he had done and teach him a lesson so he won't repeat that mistake again.
Why do you think the story ends the way it does?
- I think the story ended the way it did because after the boy had realized his mistake the women seemed to have understood that he wasn't being taken care of and didn't know any better, so she decided to give him the money to buy his shoe.
Why do you think the boy stays when he has an oppurtunity to run?
- I think he stays because he realized that the women isn't going to do any harm to him or judge him for what he had done.He also probably felt wrong for what he did so he didn't want to feel even worse and just run away.
I think roger didn't run when he had a chance because the lady was being really nice to him. also she wasnt taking him to jail, she feed, and said that if he wanted money all he had to do was ask so maybe he thought thst if he stayed and was polite and listened to her that maybe she would give him money for the shoes since he didnt have enough money for them himself.
ReplyDeleteI think roger didn't run when he had the chance because he realized that all the woman wanted to do was help. Plus, he had already done enough wrong by trying to snatch her purse from her. She had been in a situation much like his before and didn't want him to have to go through the same things.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDeleteBecause she wanted to teach him a lesson and she wanted to know why she was trying to steal her purse. And she wanted take him home to clean him up and feed himm. I think it was very generous of her. That was very nice, so now he will probably never steal someones purse again.
I think the boy stays even though he could have ran because he respected the woman. Because she was being nice and she seemed to care about him, he didn't want to let her down. If he had ran, he may have felt guilty afterward, and I think he developed a liking for the woman. Not only that, but he could have gotten in even more trouble.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDeleteI think the woman takes him home because she wants to teach him a lesson on why he shouldn't steal from other people. I think she saw something in him that she liked or that he really was a good kid, she just needed to teach him what the right thing to do. I think that she wants to care for the boy all while trying to change to way he acts so that he won't steal again.
the boy couldn't leave the house because he wanted to stay. to see if the lady was going to call the police or to see if the lady was going to give him more nice things.
ReplyDeleteQ:Why Do YOu Think She Takes Him Home?
ReplyDeleteA:Because she felt sad cause he was poor
Q:Why Do You Think The Story Ends The Way It Does?
A:Because he see's how nice people are and wont never do it again
Q:Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
A:Because the lady took him in and that he see"s that she saw him do bad and that she isnt judgemental and will repect her
Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
ReplyDeleteHe didn't run because he was starting to like the woman. She was the only one that cared enough about him to take him home. Even if he did run where would he run to.
Q:why do you think she takes him home
ReplyDeleteA: I think she takes him home because she felt a little bad for him because she thinks he needs money for things because when she was his age she was in the same position as he was.
Why do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDeleteTo teach him not to do bad stuff because he was stealing. And maybe the lady thought he was a good kid and he stoled because he doesn't have anything. So she took him home to give him what he needed

ReplyDelete-Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
The boy, Roger, didn't run because he thought the lady had done the same thing he had done when she told him,"I were once young and I couldn't get the things I want". Roger also thought that the lady would take care of him and give him somthing to eat since he had no one at home. Roger also was suprise that the lady wouldn't call the police and take him to jail.
Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
ReplyDeleteRoger stays because he is confused of staying or running before he makes up his mind the lady starts on a subject that reflects what happened to Roger or in a lifetime. He also has a second time to run but, he has a sense that the lady cares for him and that they relate.

A: He doesn't run away because he was too nervous and he thought she was going to call the police on him.
Why do you think she takes him home? I think she took him home because she was a kind woman and could see that a litle lovin' wold do him more good than a trip to the police office. PS THIS IS REBECCA ANNE BAILEY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe takes the boy home because she knows he doesnt have food at home and that he wont get his faced cleaned and also if she didnt take him home she would have not been able to teach him that stealing is not a good way to get what you want aroung here.

Why do you think the boy stays when he has an opportunity to run?
ReplyDeleteThe boy simply did'nt want to. At first, when he was told to wash his face, he saw an opportunity. But instead he went to wash his face. Later it says that the lady went to make dinner. So she couldn't see him. But he sat were she could see him out of the corner of her eye. It said he did not want to be not trusted
Q:Why do you think she takes him home?
ReplyDeleteA: to put a good influence on him I'm not saying the boy's parents are bad but maybe he has no adult figure and this will teach him patience manners good judgment

ReplyDeletethe author finishes the story like that because Roger was so full of joy that he couldn't articulate what he felt inside of him he though the phrase thank you didn't sum up what he was feeling at that time and he couldn't find something else.
